Brief C.V.:
Giovanni Aliotta was born in Naples on 16 September 1948, he got the degree
in Biological Sciences on 1971 at University of Naples Federico II.
Present rank: Associate professor of Botany at Second University of Naples.
Research Field: Allelopathy and Ethnobotany. The best results of his
researches concern with the allelopathic effects of chemicals isolated from
poisonous plants upon the germination and radical growth of cultivated
plants and weeds. Such findings open up a promising avenue in the search of
natural herbicides
Present Research Project: Location of site(s) of action of allelochemicals
and polyphenols of olive oil water on seeds of cultivated plants and weeds.
Reviewer for: International Allelopathy Journal, and  Quaderni di Biologia
Applicata ed Ambientale.

Personal Interests:
Landscape and historical gardens
