International Weed Science Congress 2004

Professor Charles Reinhardt is organizing a session on Natur al Products and Allelopathy as part of the International Weed Science Congress 2004 (IWSC2004) that will take place from 20 to 24 June 2004 in Durban, South Africa.

PRESIDENT-ELECT OF THE INTERNATIONAL ALLELOPATHY SOCIETY
VISITED UNIVERSITY OF CADIZ (UCA)

PROFESSOR YOSHIHARU FUJII  and PROFESSOR FRANCISCO A. MACIAS 

        Last 24th September, chief of Technological Development and Innovation of the UCA, RAFAEL GARCIA ROJA,  has received the visit of the President-Elect of IAS, the Japanese YOSHIHARU FUJII, that came accompanied from the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences of the UCA, and past-president of IAS, FRANCISCO ANTONIO MACÍAS.

        In this interview the invited investigator made delivery to the University of Cadiz of Award to the institution by its support and contribution to the advance of the studies in Allelopathy and specially for its support to IAS WEBSITE and the First World Congress on Allelopathy, Cadiz, 1996.

        Professor FUJII knew structure and coordination of the policy of Investigation, Development and Investment in the UCA, and the autonomic, national and European levels.

        In the UCA the Group of Investigation in Allelopathy that directs Professor MACÍAS DOMÍNGUEZ has led international projects of great importance in the agrarian and environmental development.

Arrangements are progressing for the 4th Congress to be held at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, Australia, from Sunday, August 21, to Friday, August 26, 2005. This will be the start of spring in Australia and weather will be cool to mild. This date was chosen so that it had minimal interference with people’s other commitments such as academic years and is the same time as the Conference in Japan. The timing will be a couple of weeks earlier than when the Sydney Olympic Games were held – you might remember perfect conditions for that event. It should also provide cheaper air fares than would a later date.
